Ever feel like you are the shittiest person or the worst parent in the world sometimes? Well, I do. Some (or most) days just don’t go your way as planned. At times, you just wake up on the wrong side of the bed (literally!). Why is that? We may never know but you can always take steps into making your day better or at least tolerable.
I found and read through an article about “Feminine Energy”. When I read the title, I thought “yeah, okay” in a sarcastic voice. I was curious about it though and I went back to it about 3 different times with an open mind. I’ve always been a ‘tough cookie’ and know I can do things myself. Well, this is apparently called ‘masculine energy’. When people are in their masculine energy for too long, you can get burnt out. It’s all about balance. So, what’s the difference between Masculine Energy and Feminine Energy?
MASCULINE ENERGY
Masculine Energy refers ambition, logic, leadership, being dependable, protectiveness and essentially being the provider. This energy is great to have but can get us stuck in a survival mode. Being in a constant fight or flight mode can burn us out and cause issues in other aspects of our lives.
FEMININE ENERGY
Feminine Energy refers to a state of “being” rather than “doing”. Putting the ambition, leadership and protectivess aside, this side of the energies is a matter of being in tact with your emotions and empathy. A chance to slow down, connecting with your inner self, having the patience to listen to others and expressing emotions through creativity. This energy can get us out of survival mode and provide a sense of balance.
After reading the article that I found, I’ve realized that I have been stuck in my masculine energy for way too long. Looking into what I can do to improve my feminine energy, I need to make some life changes for myself and dive deeper into my self care. I used to draw, paint and play an instrument. I used to be such a free spirit – then life happened. Fixed-upper house, kids, promotion at work (which entailed working on my days off), leading a team and sickness in the family. I know everyone can relate to those PLUS more. We all have stressors in our life and we all need to help eachother to find ways to unwind and relax. We all seem to have this unhealthy need to live up to everyone else’s expectations of what life should be. When in reality, all of our meanings of living the simple life is different to everyone. So, with that being said……
Have you ever wondered what your life would look like if you took the steps to have a mental balance and live your version of the simple life???
